This coin necklace is made from silver by local silversmith Sophie Hooper but has been inspired by an original Roman coin. The original bronze quadran this is cast from dates back to the earliest era of all the Roman coins found on Nornour in the Eastern Isles in the Isles of Scilly.
Jewellery artist Sophie Hooper first became interested in jewellery making after receiving a simple silver bangle from her mother. Her classic, Scilly-inspired designs are elegantly made on St Mary's and make perfect gifts.
Sophie grew up in a family of artists which inevitably shaped her focus on design and creativity. As a result, Sophie has always had the confidence to express her artistic ideas, has incredible attention to detail and painstakingly creates perfect pieces of jewellery from her small workshop on St Mary's in the Isles of Scilly.
