This leaded light (stained glass) panel was made by Oriel Hicks and was handmade on Scilly. It is framed in wood and is freestanding. It was made using the centuries old method of cut glass and lead.
The coloured glass used is transparent - see second photo for how the window appears in situ.
Overall dimensions are: 365mm x 365mm x 85mm in depth.
Oriel has worked with glass as a medium for over thirty years and is inspired by the unique light, colour and natural environment of her island home. She experiments with many different techniques and processes including Tiffany, traditional leaded lights, etching and fused glass and her work is constantly evolving.
