Large, individual monotype by Anita Reynolds signed by the artist.
Framed size: 350mm x 700mm
The image depicts the uninhabited island of Samson in the Isles of Scilly and the lines created on the beach where the seaweed and sand is thrown upon the shore by the wind and tide.
This is a cool, wintry scene which perfectly captures the Scillonian winter light and the natural forms created by the weed when it is sculpted by the wind and the tide.
Anita creates her unique, one off monoprints by carefully building up layers of ink using various mark making methods she has developed over the years; each interpretation is different and she never knows exactly how the monotype will turn out until it is complete.
