Elaine Brett Rowlands

After visiting the Isles of Scilly several times, Elaine Brett Rowlands approached us to sell her work at Tamarisk, believing it was a good fit for the gallery. We really felt it was, too, and her botanical pictures have been well received by visitors. We asked Elaine if she might make some tiles specific to Scilly featuring plants such as the ubiquitous agapanthus which she has kindly done!

As well as the plants and flowers of Scilly, Elaine lives in the Lake District and is inspired by the nature which surrounds her. She makes her pieces by creating moulds and casting them in plaster, individually hand-finishing each piece with acrylics so that each one is unique. Her pieces come in limited editions of 150 to ensure the quality of the cast is not compromised.

The size and muted colours of her work make it a perfect fit for a variety of households and settings.
