The image depicts the uninhabited island of Samson in the Isles of Scilly and the lines created on the beach where the weed is washed upon the shore by the tide. Anita has captured the beach in its autumnal glory in her signature style and the picture evokes a feeling of solitude and peace.
Anita creates her unique, one off monoprints by carefully building up layers of ink using various mark making methods she has developed over the years; each interpretation is different and she never knows exactly how the monotype will turn out until it is complete.
