Fused glass Bishop Rock Lighthouse sculpture by Oriel Hicks, handmade on Scilly.
Dimensions (approx): 440mm high x 420mm wide x 230mm deep.
This fused glass lighthouse is made by carefully cutting and structuring glass shards and frit to create the three separate parts of the scene. It is then fused together and arranged in a wooden base made by woodworker Stuart Mackin.
Oriel has worked with glass as a medium for thirty years and is inspired by the unique light, colour and natural environment of her island home. She experiments with many different techniques and processes including Tiffany, traditional leaded lights, etching and fused glass and her work is constantly evolving.
Each lighthouse is individually handmade so there may be differences between the one created and the image shown. Although we try to keep a sculpture in stock, it may need to be made to order so please allow time for this (and let us know if you need it for a particular date).
