Sian McGill

Sian McGill was born and raised in Wales. She returned to painting whilst bringing up her family. As her children have grown older, she has now become a full time artist and regularly exhibits at galleries in Wales where she lives and Cornwall where she also spends a lot of time

Her inspiration comes from being outdoors and enjoying the coastline as well as the mountains. She likes to capture the energy of a place in her paintings with quick strokes, usually using a palette knife but also with brushes and other objects. This technique also gives her paintings unusual texture and marks. Experimenting with colour and shape too means that her paintings are constantly evolving and these elements come together to create an impression of a place and evoke memories in the onlooker.
