Depicting the Agapanthus that grow in abundance at the iconic Juliet's Garden on St Mary's in the Isles of Scilly and the uninhabited island of Samson behind.
Rod Shaw was born in South Yorkshire in 1962 and grew up in the Midlands, studying at Loughborough College of Art and Design before going on to specialise in Fine Art at Newcastle University in the 1980s. Rod has spent time touring Britain and Ireland over many years, travelling from the Western Isles of Scotland to the creeks and coves of Cornwall. More recently he has discovered the Isles of Scilly, where his daughter now resides and works. Rod finds endless possibilities for painting on his travels, exploring the way in which the landscape is transformed by the fleeting effects of light and weather.
