The image depicts the uninhabited island of Samson in the Isles of Scilly. 'Landing Beach' is the main point where day visitors disembark from the passenger boats during the summer months. In this picture, Anita has captured the beach during the winter with the dramatic colour of the beach, seaweed and bracken against the backdrop of a wintry sea.
Anita creates her unique, one off prints by carefully building up layers of ink and using the mark making techniques she has developed and refined over the years to eventually bring out a final piece. Each interpretation is different and Anita never knows exactly how the monoprint will turn out until it is complete.
