Large, individual monotype by Anita Reynolds signed by the artist.
Framed size: 350mm x 700mm
The image depicts the uninhabited island of Samson in the Isles of Scilly and the lines created on the beach where the seaweed and sand is thrown upon the shore by the wind and tide.
The bright ochre of the weed in this picture is set off by the cool blue of the sea and the viewer is drawn in by this and the many layers of the monotype and the natural shapes created by Anita's honed skill.
Anita Reynolds creates her unique, one off monoprints by carefully building up layers of ink using various mark making methods she has developed over the years; each interpretation is different and she never knows exactly how the monotype will turn out until it is complete.
