This fused glass wave featuring Shearwaters is made by carefully structuring glass shards to create a blend of colours. It is then 'slumped' in the kiln to create the wave shape.
Oriel has worked with glass as a medium for thirty years and is inspired by the unique light, colour and natural environment of her island home. She experiments with many different techniques and processes including Tiffany, traditional leaded lights, etching and fused glass and her work is constantly evolving.
Each Shearwater Wave is individually handmade so there may be differences between the one created and the image shown. Although we tend to keep some Shearwater Wave sculptures in stock, sometimes waves may need to be made to order so please allow time for this (and let us know if you need it in time for a particular date).
