Wooden jewellery box with fused glass detail. Glass is handmade by Oriel Hicks at Phoenix Studios on St Marys, Isles of Scilly. The wooden boxes are turned by Stuart Mackin on his home lathe in West Cornwall.

Oriel has worked with glass as a medium for thirty years and is inspired by the unique light, colour and natural environment of her island home. She experiments with many different techniques and processes including Tiffany, traditional leaded lights, etching and fused glass and her work is constantly evolving.
Stuart Mackin works from his home studio just outside of Penzance and makes a range of items from wood, including clocks, signs, wood turned bowls and these lidded boxes.
