These popular Pilot Cutters Glass are made using fused glass sails, handmade by Oriel Hicks in the Isles of Scilly and set into wooden hulls created by Stuart Mackin in Cornwall.
The sails tend to feature the blues and turquoises reminiscent of the Scilly sea and may vary slightly to those pictured as each sculpture is created as a one off design. If you have a preference on colour, please specify this when purchasing and we will do our best to match to your requirements.
Oriel Hicks has worked with glass as a medium for thirty years and is inspired by the unique light, colour and natural environment of her island home. She experiments with many different techniques and processes including Tiffany, traditional leaded lights, etching and fused glass and her work is constantly evolving.
