Carole Baker is inspired by the effect of light upon the landscape. Her paintings intend to invoke a feeling in the viewer more than simply record a moment. She travels and paints en plein air, capturing the essence of a place and either completes work in the field or uses watercolour sketches and preliminary mark making as a starting point to spark new work back in her studio.
